Things to look forward to...

Bah, I'm tired of feeling so down. So I've been reminding myself of the many good things coming up during the latter half of the year.

--Well, summer school will be over Wednesday afternoon. So I'll have 3 weeks of nothing but sleeping late and lazing about. Bliss.

--The new season of Greek starts August 31. FINALLY CASEY AND CAPPIE WILL BE TOGETHER!!!! They better be, anyway. I don't know how much more I can take of them leading me on and playing around with my emotions.

--There will be Icegators hockey in some form in Lafayette again this fall. I've missed going to games so much.

--Visit to Asela in October! Wow, I can't even describe how badly I need to get out of LA for a bit.

--Week-long vacation in Hawaii over winter break. 'Nuff said.

devilish brooksie

third post in one day? what's up with that?

So I attempted to join the Gator forum a few days back, you know, to keep up with the gossip and join in with the "yay Gators are coming back!" fun. I never did get an email approving membership or anything, so I went to see what's up and get a message that my IP address has been banned for posting pr0n to the forum.

LOLWUT?!?!?

No, seriously. WHAT?

I'm not sure how I managed to do that, since I only just recently tried to re-register and that website has been shut down for like the past four years.

Also, I have been joining way too many hockey communities on LJ.

(no subject)

Sometimes I wish I could leave LSU, just take the plunge and move to DC. Then reality intrudes and I remember that I have no job prospects and am already up to $67,000 in debt.

Sigh.

I try to comfort myself with the thought that after I graduate I'll be able to attract employers with my shiny JD. But reality intrudes again to remind that even then, with my fairly crappy grades, I'll probably have trouble finding a job around here [much less one in DC]. Also, there's that little detail of having to take the Virginia/Maryland/DC bar to work there. Such a vicious cycle.. I wouldn't move there unless I had a job to support myself, but I couldn't get a job there in the first place unless I moved there and took the bar.

Double sigh.

On a slight upside, the second coming of the Gators draws nigh. Granted, they'll be playing in the SPHL, which is such a minor league that the ECHL teams assign players to it, but at least it's something. Too bad I no longer live within 30 mins of Lafayette, but I'll make it work.

Of course, any excitement I feel about being able to watch hockey in person again is nearly crushed by the fact that the Gators made fucking Jason Hamilton their first signing. Bodes well for the kind of hockey they're planning to play by signing that goon.

Also, my dad brought to my attention today that Dave Farrish is an assistant coach for the Ducks. That's so cool. I guess I never noticed because I only pay attention to the Wild and the Flames [well, okay, mostly just Jarome anyway] out in the West. I guess now I'll have to give a little love to the Ducks in honor of one of our old coaches.
